It took a few years of Google to drift and implement most of now’s excellent functionality into assistant, and we are finally there now. It provides us information about everything like weather, calendar, shipping, travel, commute, reservation, and customizable contextual card. We can evoke it with just a simple “Hey Google, show me my day.” But the thing that we cannot do is swipe right on the home screen to get it. Now Google is implementing another faster way to get to snapshot. But you cannot force it unless Google itself gives it to you.
Hopefully, to get the faster access to open the assistance snapshot now, look for the card at the top of which offers the new access, and all you can do now is keep your finger crossed. That card may have appeared for some of you over the past few months, but it started showing up for more assistant user over the past few days. Google likely flipped a sever side switch and decided to enable it.
Now add a shortcut, then add automatically on the screen that follows, and that’s it. You should have an icon on your home screen, which will immediately load snapshots. It will elaborate on the sports weather and about a few other Google shortcuts.
This icon is not a traditional one:
- This shortcut is not a widget shortcut, so you cannot add it from the widget option.
- According to the evidence given by the mini Google icon, it is an independent Google app launcher shortcut. Still, it doesn’t matter how many times you tap and hold on the regular Google icon; you won’t get snapshots as an option. It’s hidden.
- It doesn’t trigger unknown activity, so activity launcher or Nova launcher cannot be used to duplicate its functionality, so you cannot load it by swiping right on Nova.
- Even with the root or Tasker, There. It doesn’t seem to be any workaround to sneak your way to it.
Don’t think twice when Google offers you the card and put it on your home screen. If you remove it mistakenly, then you may never get the suggestion to add it again. Google Assistant snapshots will differ from person to person, depending on the kind of content they use. However, few of these will be similar, including weather updates, commute time, and bills, whether it’s a credit card or phone.
Google said that it focuses on three keys, key areas with snapshots: aggregation, acceleration, and automation. For now, this functionality is only available in English as their default language. In the coming months, this command will be ruled out for other languages as well. The summary of other essential tasks will also be visible, including reminders of upcoming birthday and Holidays. The snapshot will always let you tap on the birthday notification, followed by the action you want to take.
